On June 26, 2024, the Township Board of Trustees for the Charter Township of Washington, approved an Amendment to the Washington Township Zoning Ordinance, being Ordinance 138, as amended, revising regulations regarding outdoor seating areas and cafes within the local commercial, general commercial and village district; deleting the requirement that pathways connect to the Macomb Orchard Trail; prohibiting landscaping from being located within any easement area including the property between individual parcels and the Macomb Orchard Trial; revising maximum lot coverage and maximum impervious surface coverage on lots within the agricultural residential, rural estate, and single family zoning districts, and repealing any and all Ordinances and/or Resolutions in conflict therewith.
A complete copy of the Zoning Ordinance Amendment is posted in the office of the Township Clerk located at 57900 Van Dyke Avenue, Washington Township, Michigan 48094 and on the Washington Township website which can be accessed at www.washingtontownship.org. The Zoning Ordinance Amendment may be reviewed, inspected or a copy purchased at the Township Clerk’s Office Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Ordinance Amendment shall take effect seven (7) days after this publication.
