A regular meeting of the Charter Township of Oakland Board of Trustees was called to order on Tuesday, December 10th, 2024 at 7:03 PM in the Township Hall, 4393 Collins Rd, Rochester, MI.
PRESENT: Robin Buxar, Supervisor; Dave Mabry, Clerk; John Giannangeli, Treasurer; Emily Campbell, Trustee; John Casadei, Trustee; Jack Elder, Trustee; Jeanne Langlois,
ABSENT: None
THE FOLLOWING MOTIONS WERE MADE AND PASSED:
1. To approve the agenda as amended.
2. To approve the consent agenda as presented.
3. To approve the November 7, 2024 proposal to update the three physical firewall devices, at a price not to exceed $22,606.07 and authorize the Township Manager to sign the proposal.
4. To approve budget amendments #24-19,20, 21 & 22 from the budget amendment memo dated December 10th, 2024.
5. To amend the proposed Compatible Renewable Energy Ordinance item #7 definition of “dark sky-friendly lighting technology” be modified to read “light fixtures that comply with DarkSky International recommendations”.
6. To schedule a public hearing date of January 14, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. to consider, and introduce for first reading, the Compatible Renewable Energy Ordinance, as amended.
7. To add back into the wage salary classification schedule HR & Communication Specialist pay range $69,847- $97,785.80 and amend the budget back to the original presented budget in October prior to the workshop and adjust line item #101-172-703-000 and the salaries were $177,000 for this year, $181,500 for next, $185,200 and adjust line item #101-172-704-000 wages part time to 12,000, 12,300, 12,600 and add to wage and salary classification the maintenance technician with the current salary.
8. To approve the General Appropriations Act and have the Clerk sign, with the addition of the final wording from the December 2022 General Appropriations Act – “and may make transfers among the various line items contained in the cost center appropriation excluding wages, salary, benefits, and capital appropriations without provided prior notice to the Township Board.”
9. To approve the 2025-2027 agreement for law enforcement services between the Charter Township of Oakland and the County of Oakland, with the rates attached in the agreement that were approved by the Oakland County Board of Commission resolution 2024-4635 on November 21, 2024 and use payment terms of evenly split in section 12.3 and authorize the Clerk and Supervisor and Clerk to sign.
10. To approve the Board of Trustees meeting schedule as presented in the Board Packet.
11. To approve the 2025 holiday list as presented in the board packet.
12. To schedule a public hearing on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, on the proposed 5-year update to the Oakland Township Master Plan.
