The Charter Township of Oakland Board of Trustees, at its April 28, 2026, Regular Meeting introduced and held a first reading of an ordinance to amend Ordinance 16, the Charter Township of Oakland Zoning Ordinance. Article II Definitions to add language to Section 16-201 Defined Terms to include Data Centers; Article IV Research-Development District to add language to Section 16-414 permitting data centers as a Special Land Use; Article V Special Land Uses to add a new Section 16-530 Data Center Standards; and any other technical corrections or revisions. The second reading and consideration for adoption will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the May 12, 2026 Board of Trustees Regular Meeting at the Oakland Township Hall, 4393 Collins Road, Rochester, Michigan 48306. A true copy of the Ordinance can be inspected or obtained on the Township Website or at the office of the Charter Township of Oakland Clerk, 4393 Collins Road, Rochester, Michigan, 48306. Any interested person may appear and comment in person or by agent or attorney upon a scheduled agenda item during the meeting to be held at the date, time and location above. Written comments may also be submitted to the Charter Township of Oakland at the address above prior to the scheduled meeting date. Documents pertaining to any request on the agenda are available for review during normal business hours at the Oakland Township office or at the hearing.
