Pres. Coenen called meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Pledge of Allegiance recited. Council members present at roll call: Coenen, Clark, Stirrett, Adair, Barzyk, Shall, and Boelke. Also present: Clerk Poulos, Treasurer Porter, Stacy Sobotka, Carmelo Portero, Pola Portaro, Marcia Hollins, Bryon Jaracz, Stacy Sobotka, Independence, Bob Richter, and Kevin Grand.
COUNCIL ACTION: Unanimously approved Agenda as presented. Heard and Received: Water Commissioner report; Clerk report; Planning Commission Meeting Minutes of 4/7/26; F & V Report for March, 2026. Approved the Consent Agenda as presented: RCM Minutes of 4/13/26 approved as presented; Payment of Bills totaling $28,975.80 as presented. Unanimously approved: to appoint Steve Nikkel to the Construction Board of Appeals to a term ending April 21, 2027, subject to the appointee meeting the qualifications set forth in Section 62.7 of the General Law Village Act, Act 3 of 1895; to appoint Robin Caruss to the Construction Board of Appeals to a term ending April 21, 2027, subject to the appointee meeting the qualifications set forth in Section 62.7 of the General Law Village Act, Act 3 of 1895; to approve the quote from Wyatt Performance and Fab LLC for a new sign for Memorial Park in the not to exceed amount of $2,500.00; that the Village Office adopt a modified summer schedule by closing the office on Fridays beginning May 1, 2026. The office will operate Monday through Thursday maintaining full-service hours; to approve the repair to Fulton Street in the amount not to exceed $5,000.00 as allowed for in the 2026/2027 Approved Budget. Contractor will be chosen at a later date; to approve the quote from Michigan Pavement Markings for road striping of Main Street and Fulton Street in the not to exceed amount of $2,112.00; to approve the quote from Metro Sewer Cleaners to clean 200 catch basins in the Village in the not to exceed amount of $14,200.00.
