Pres. Coenen called meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Pledge of Allegiance recited. Council members present at roll call: Coenen, Clark, Stirrett, Adair, Barzyk, Shall, and Boelke. Also present: Clerk Poulos, Treasurer Porter, Stacy Sobotka, Carmelo Portero, Pola Portaro, Marcia Hollins, and Kevin Grand.
COUNCIL ACTION: Unanimously approved Agenda as presented. Heard and Received: Verbal reports from the Water Commissioner report; Planning Commission Liaison; Street Administrator; Planning Commission Meeting Minutes of 4/20/26. Approved the Consent Agenda as presented: RCM Minutes of 5/11/26 approved as presented; Payment of Bills totaling $31,632.96 as presented. Unanimously approved: to adopt the Resolution exempting veterans applying and qualifying for an exemption from real property taxes on their homestead in the Village of Armada pursuant to MCL211.7b from the annual Village special assessment for police protection levied pursuant to Public Act 33 of 1951; to approve the millage rate to be levied by the Treasurer for tax year 2026 for operating the General Fund be levied at the reduced rate of 8.4791 mills in compliance with the Headlee 2026 reduction factor of 1.0000 Section MCL211.34d; to approve the millage rate to be levied by the Treasurer for tax year 2026 for operating the Municipal Street Fund be levied at the reduced rate of 3.3913 mills in compliance with the Headlee 2026 reduction factor of 1.0000 Section MCL211.34d; to approve the millage rate to be levied by the Treasurer for tax year 2026 Public Act 33 Special Assessment be levied at the Council electively reduced rate of 1.7500 these funds will be used for Police Health and Safety Operations; to authorize the Clerk, President, and Treasurer to sign all warrants and forms related to the 2026 tax roll; to approve the quote from Metro Sewer to include forty (40) additional catch basins at a cost not to exceed $2,840.00 and to allow the Street Administrator to sign on behalf of the Village.
