PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that any qualified elector of Washington Township, and not already registered, may register to vote at the office of the Township Clerk; the office of the County Clerk; a Secretary of State branch office, or other designated state agency. Registration forms can be obtained at www.mi.gov/vote and mailed to the Washington Township Clerk. Those who have a valid Michigan driver’s license or state ID may register to vote or update their voter registration online at www.mvic.sos.state.mi.us/registervoter .
The last day to register in any manner other than in-person with the local clerk is Monday, October 19, 2026. After this date, anyone who qualifies as an elector may register to vote in person with proof of residency (MCL 168.492) at the Washington Township Clerk’s office, located at 57900 Van Dyke Rd. Washington Township., MI 48094 at the following times:
• Regular business hours: Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Saturday October 31st from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

A proposal to convene a constitutional convention for the purpose of drafting a general revision of the state constitution
Proposal 2026-2
A proposed initiated law to prohibit campaign contributions from certain regulated utilities and government contractors and apply campaign finance laws and regulations to additional types of political communications
MACOMB COUNTY VETERANS’ MILLAGE
If approved, this proposal will levy for four (4) years, 2027, 2028, 2029 and 2030, 0.0690 mills by Macomb County that expires in 2026. This will continue funding the financial aid and services for Macomb County veterans and support the administration of the Macomb County Department of Veteran Affairs and Macomb County Veteran Affairs Commission.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION MILLAGE
A 0.95 mill tax ($0.95 per $1,000 of taxable value) was previously approved by the voters for tax years 2022 through 2026 for the purpose of supporting the Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation (SMART) in providing a public transportation system serving older adults, persons with disabilities, and the general public of Macomb County. That millage is scheduled to expire after 2026.
This proposal would authorize a new 0.94 mill tax to replace the previously approved and expiring millage. The new 0.94 mill tax for tax years 2027 through 2031, inclusive (five (5) years), is to provide funds for public transportation services serving older adults, persons with disabilities, and the general public of Macomb County.
MACOMB COUNTY ZOOLOGICAL AUTHORITY
Renewal of Macomb County Zoological Authority Millage in Support of the Detroit Zoo
In 2008 and 2016, pursuant to Public Act 49 of 2008, Macomb County voters renewed a 10-year property tax millage to fund zoological services through the Macomb County Zoological Authority, supporting animal care for more than 2,000 animals and 200 species, educational and senior programs, and facility maintenance at the Detroit Zoo.
To continue providing these services, the Authority seeks to renew and restore the millage to the originally voter-approved rate of 0.10 mill (10 cents per $1,000 of taxable value). This proposal would renew the millage at 0.0922 mill and restore the remaining 0.0078 mill that was reduced due to required rollback, for a total authorized rate of 0.10 mill on taxable real and personal property for ten (10) years.

Street Improvements Bond Proposal
Shall the Village of Romeo, County of Macomb, Michigan, borrow the principal sum of not to exceed Seven Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($7,500,000), and issue its unlimited tax general obligation bonds, payable in not to exceed sixteen (16) years, to pay the cost of acquiring and constructing street improvements in the Village, including curb, gutter, drainage and related improvements?
