The Office of the Village Clerk is accepting letters of interest and resumes from residents interested in being considered for appointment to fill a vacancy on the Armada Village Council for a term ending November 20, 2024.
The deadline for filing letters of interest and resumes with the Office of the Village Clerk is 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2023. Filings received after this deadline will not be considered, unless no letters of interest are received.
Residents who have timely filed a letter of interest and resume and meet the minimum qualifications for appointment will be afforded the option of making a three-minute presentation to the Village Council at the Monday, April 10, 2023, regular meeting. This optional presentation should address: (a) qualifications for office; (b) reasons for interest in the office; and (c) a vision for Armada.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Village General Law Act (MCL 62.7), Chapter II, §7 establishes the following minimum qualifications for appointment to the office of Village Council:
Must be an elector of the Village.
Cannot be in default to the Village.
Shall take and subscribe the oath of office and file the oath with the Village Clerk within 30 days after receiving notice of election or appointment.
