The Charter Township of Oakland in accordance with National Flood Insurance Program regulation 65.7(b)(1), hereby gives notice of the Township’s intent to revise the floodway, generally located along the West Branch of Stoney Creek between Stoney Creek Road and High Winds Lane. Specifically, the floodway shall be revised from a point approximately 2,690 feet upstream (northwest) of High Winds Lane to a point approximately 390 feet downstream (south) of Stoney Creek Road. As a result of the floodway revision, the floodway shall widen and narrow with a maximum widening of 126 feet at a point approximately 1,200 feet downstream (south) of Stoney Creek Road and a maximum narrowing of approximately 245 feet at a point approximately 2,650 feet downstream (Southeast) of Stoney Creek Road.
In addition, the 1% annual chance water-surface elevations and the 1% annual chance floodplain shall be revised from a point approximately 2,690 feet upstream (northwest) of High Winds Lane to a point approximately 390 feet downstream (south) of Stoney Creek Road. As a result of the revision, the 1% annual chance water-surface elevations shall increase and decrease and the 1% annual chance floodplain shall widen and narrow within the area of revision.
