PUBLIC NOTICE – TOWNSHIP OF ARMADA NOTICE OF SCHOOL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, MAY 2, 2023

To the Qualified Electors: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the SCHOOL ELECTION will be held in the Township of Armada, County of Macomb, State of Michigan on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at the places of holding the Election in said township as indicated below.

ARMADA TOWNSHIP PRECINCTS:

Precinct 1

Armada Area Schools Administration Building

(living South of Armada Center Road)

74500 Burk Street, Armada MI 48005

Precinct 2

Armada Senior Center (living North of Armada Center Road)

75400 North Avenue, Armada 48005

All precincts are handicap accessible. Voting instructions are available in alternative formats. Contact your Clerk’s office for details. Please note that “photo identification” requirement implemented per Michigan Election Law, requires voter’s appearing at polling locations to present picture identification, or sign an affidavit if they do not have picture identification with them.

The polls of said election will be open at 7:00 a.m. and will remain open until 8:00 p.m.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE the Armada Area Schools District will be voting on the following millage proposals:

ARMADA AREA SCHOOLS

GENERAL OBLIGATION UNLIMITED TAX BOND PROPOSAL

FOR BUILDING SITE PURPOSES IN THE AMOUNT OF

NOT TO EXCEED $26,500,000

AND

ARMADA AREA SCHOOLS SINKING FUND MILLAGE

PROPOSAL .85 MILL FOR 10 YEARS

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE THAT THE BONDS OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT, IF APPROVED BY A MAJORITY VOTE OF THE ELECTORS AT THIS ELECTION, WILL BE GENERAL OBLIGATION UNLIMITED TAX BONDS PAYABLE FROM GENERAL AD VALOREM TAXES.

Full text of the ballot proposal may also be obtained at the Armada Township Clerk’s office, 23121 E. Main, Armada. A sample ballot may be viewed at mi.gov/vote.

Please note that the Township of Armada will be open to the public Saturday, April 29 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to process absentee ballot requests ONLY. Friday, April 28 is the last day an absent voter ballot can be mailed via First Class mail. On Monday, May 1, 2023 absentee ballots must be voted in person at the clerk’s office up until 4:00 p.m.
