Notice is hereby given that there will be a Public Hearing held before the Charter Township of Washington Planning Commission on Thursday, May 11th, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. in the Washington Township Municipal Building Board Room located at 57900 Van Dyke, Washington Township, MI 48094.
The purpose of this Public Hearing is to hear and receive comments related to proposed text amendments and regulations in the Washington Township Zoning Ordinance as follows:
Amendment to: Section 3.17 Planned Unit Development, C. Review procedures, 5. Site Plan Amendment procedure: Adding language delegating the PC as the authority in determining minor modification and adding language to address existing PUD minor modification reviews.
Repeal in its entirety: Section 6.1 Site Plan Review and Approval, C. Submission Requirements, 2. Administrative review committee for minor modification and site plan waiver process and renumber subsequent sections accordingly
Addition of: The Pre-Planning “Advisory” Committee to the definition section outlining the purpose and intent of this advisory committee.
Addition of: Ordinance language to Section 7.12 outlining the Conditional Rezoning and Rezoning process to include the requirements for both the Planning Commission and Township Board submission.
Addition to: Section 7.9 (ZBA) paragraph B (jurisdiction) adding a subparagraph 3: interpretation and appealing an administrative decision.
Amendment to: Section 5.3.C Residential Entrances and Clear Vision Areas: Amendment to require compliance with section 5.14 clear vision.
Amendment to: Section 4.54 Use Standards: Solar Panels
Amendment for: Places of worship updates in Section 3.15 (IND Industrial District) subsection C. to remove item 4 and renumber subsequent items accordingly and in Section 3.14 (O-1 General Office District) subsection C. to remove item 7 and renumber subsequent items accordingly.
Addition for: Establishing a new “Light” Industrial Zoning District, IRT Industrial-Research-Technology.
A complete copy of the proposed text amendments is available on the Township Website WashingtonTownship.org under Ordinance Amendments located on the side tab of the Planning and Zoning Department Page. Copies are also available during normal business hours at the Washington Township Municipal Building in the Planning and Zoning Department. Everyone will be given an opportunity to speak during the Public Hearing.
