August 2022, the Village Board made a motion to approve the creation of the Romeo Parks Citizens Task Force (RPCTF 01) to analyze, develop and recommend green space areas within the Village of Romeo. The Task Force will be reporting and making recommendations to the Romeo Village Council.
The task force currently has five committee members and in need of two more volunteers for a well-rounded representation of all the residents. The current team is comprised of: Clarke Stough (Chairman), Connie Rivard, Nancy O’Brien, Bobbie Chambers and Village Trustee, Shelley Rosso. The first step is to identify areas in the village limits that could benefit from a park and/or more green areas. In 2022, a potential parcel, owned by the Village of Romeo, was identified on Sisson Street, across from the school bus yard. It is a full plus acre of vacant land, formerly utilized by the DPW. This parcel is currently being discussed and evaluated, as a green area, in our ongoing monthly meetings. To volunteer for the task force, provide input or have questions answered, please contact Clarke Stough at romeoPCTF@gmail.com.
