Pres. Coenen called meeting to order at 7:02 PM. Pledge of Allegiance recited. Council members present at roll call: Ballard, Coenen, Clark, Boelke, Shall, Sledz, Adair. Also present: Clerk Poulos, Treasurer Porter, Doug Hartline, Stacy Sobotka, Sam Boelke, Sharon Verlinde, Dawn LeVasseur, David Wagner, Merideth Leighty, Police Chief Maierle, and Kevin Grand.
COUNCIL ACTION: Unanimously approved Agenda as presented. Heard and/or received the Treasurer Report for April, 2023, the F & V Report for April, 2023 (verbally reviewed by Doug Hartline), the DPW Report for May, 2023, and the Planning Commission Meeting Minutes of 4-17-23; verbal reports from Trustee Boelke and Planning Commission Liaison Shall. Unanimously Approved the Consent Agenda as presented: RCM Minutes of 5/8/23 approved as presented; Payment of Bills totaling $41,427.92 as presented; the application from the Armada AmVets for a Special Event Permit for May 26, 2023, for a four-corner fundraiser and May 29, 2023, for the Memorial Day Parade; the application from the Armada PAL (Police Leadership Team) for a Special Event Permit for June 4, 2023, for a four-corner fundraiser. Unanimously Approved: to appoint Jo Adair as Police Commissioner for the Village of Armada to a term ending November 25, 2024; to accept the Auditor’s Engagement Letter and to allow the Village Treasurer to sign on behalf of the Village; to approve the Resolution approving the 2024-2026 Macomb County Urban County Renewal and to authorize the Village Clerk and Village Attorney to sign the Cooperative Agreement between Macomb County and the Village of Armada for the period of 2024-2026; to approve the purchase of one Kenwood mobile radio with programming for a cost not to exceed $2,700.00. Approved: to have the two (2) guns sent to be destroyed. Motion made and failed to get a second: to allow Armada Armory to sell/auction these two guns.
