Notice is hereby given that the Bruce Township Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on Monday, September 25, 2023, beginning at 7:00 PM, or as soon thereafter as the agenda allows, at the Bruce Township Hall, 223 East Gates Street, Romeo, MI 48065.
The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comments on a request for a variance submitted by S.H.D. Properties. The applicant is seeking a variance from Section 161-3.1.3.E, setback standards of the R-1-A district. A 50-foot rear yard setback is required, and the applicant requests that 3 lots in a proposed 9-lot subdivision be allowed to have a 25-foot rear setback in order to keep wetlands out of the lot areas. A variance of 25 feet is requested. The property in question is vacant land on the south side of 35 Mile Road, between Judges Court and Gould Road (parcel ID 14-01-22-100-055).
A complete copy of the application for a variance may be examined at Bruce Township Hall, 223 East Gates Street, Romeo, MI 48065, prior to the public hearing, during the Township’s regular business hours, Monday through Wednesday, 7:30 AM through 4:30 PM and Thursday, 8:30 AM through 4:30 PM. Written comments may be addressed to the Zoning Board of Appeals at the Township Hall address. Oral comments will be taken during the hearing on September 25, 2023.
