PUBLIC NOTICE – NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BY CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF WASHINGTON ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Washington Township Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a Public Hearing on Monday October 2nd, 2023 at 6:30 p.m., at 57900 Van Dyke, Washington Township Michigan 48094 in the Board Room of the Washington Township Municipal Building. The purpose of this meeting is to consider an appeal by:

By reason of:

Washington Township Zoning Ordinance Article 5.0 Site Standards, Section 5.12.C. Table: Off-Street Parking Requirements: Use-Commercial: Retail stores, except as otherwise specified herein One (1) space for every two hundred and fifty (250) square feet of floor area. Use-Industrial: Warehouse, One (1) space for every seventeen hundred (1,700) square feet of useable floor area.

Washington Township Zoning Ordinance Article 5.0 Site Standards, Section 5.12 Off Street Parking Requirements, D. Village District V-1 parking standards. (First Request) 1. Parking within a front yard shall be limited to a one-way maneuvering lane, (Second Request) and one row of parking.

Purpose of request:

This request, if approved, would allow the applicant to expand the existing parking lot from one row of parking to a double-sided parking area with two-way maneuvering lanes in order to accommodate for the parking needs that will come with the future redevelopment of the site. This application also includes a 5-space reduction from the minimum number of parking spaces required for commercial/retail and storage/warehouse uses.

All property owners within 300 feet are being notified. The public may participate in the meeting by attending in person or sending a representative to attend for them. Written comments may be submitted during normal business hours to the Washington Township Planning and Zoning Department prior to the ZBA meeting.
