A regular meeting of the Charter Township of Oakland Board of Trustees was called to order on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 7:00 PM in the Township Hall, 4393 Collins Rd, Rochester, MI.
PRESENT: Robin Buxar, Supervisor; Dave Mabry, Clerk; John Giannangeli, Treasurer; Jack Elder, Trustee; Jeanne Langlois, Trustee; Lana Mangiapane, Trustee
ABSENT: Andy Zale, Trustee
THE FOLLOWING MOTIONS WERE MADE AND PASSED:
1. To approve the agenda as amended.
2. To approve the Consent Agenda as read.
3. To approve the first reading of the Amendments to the Charter Township of Oakland’s Tree Removal Permit Article II, Tree Protection, Preservation and Removal Chapter 389, Section 11, Article II, Chapter 389, Section 13, and Article II, Chapter 389, Section 17 and direct the Township Clerk to publish said Ordinance in accordance with State law and hereby set the second reading of said Ordinance Amendment for October 24, 2023.
4. To accept the two barn donations from Oaktown LLC for relocation for the purpose of saving the historic structures for community use at Cranberry Lake Farm Historic District and authorize the Township Manager to send a letter of acceptance to Oaktown LLC with the understanding that only the two barns will be removed and all foundation, concrete and silo will remain as is at 2220 E. Clarkston Road.
5. To reappoint Karen Reilly to the Oakland Township Zoning Board of Appeals for a 3-year term ending September 2026.
6. To recommend to the Board to reappoint John Casadei to the Oakland Township Planning Commission for a 3-year term ending September 2026.
7. To recommend to the Board to reappoint Gary Kwapis to the Oakland Township Planning Commission for a 3-year term ending September 2026.
8. To notify the Board of all upcoming openings for any board or commission at least 3 months prior to their term expiring.
9. To apply the Oakland Township SMART Credit and agree to the terms of the Municipal Credit and Community Credit Contract for FY2024 for the period of July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024 and move $18,782.00 to the OPC and authorize Clerk Mabry to sign.
10. To approve Resolution 23-20 To Participate in the Trailways Grant Program For The Gallagher Gap To Supersede And Replace Resolution No. 22-24 and authorize the Township Clerk to certify and file same with the amended language in the Resolution that says Clerk Mabry.
11. To adjourn the meeting at 8:34 PM.
