Detroit Tiger pitcher Mickey Lolich paid a visit to River of God Church Saturday, April 20, where he was honored with a “Hometown Hero” award. He spent the afternoon visiting with fans and giving a presentation about his 16-year career in Major League Baseball. He has lived a relatively quiet life in Washington Township with his wife of 59 years, Joyce, since before the days when he was named Most Valuable Player of the 1968 World Series.
