AUG. 6 ISSUE ANSWERS: This old photo shows three structures. To the right is one of the two wooden buildings we discussed last week which occupied the present location of Youngers Restaurant. The Italianate style brick building with six windows on the second floor is still with us in the form of the Cookery Restaurant. This did replace a former wooden building. The brick building has the arched windows that were popular in the 1870s. The small wooden building in the center of the photo has been replaced with the Office Pub Restaurant in brick. The larger two-story Greek Revival wooden building to the left was torn down in the 20th Century to make way for a Texaco gas station to service all those cars that were invented at that time. Finally the Texaco was removed to build a brick restaurant we now call Peaches Brunch House. R. Beringer, Romeo Historical Society curator
